SEMLS Electronic Discussion List Policy
The Southeastern Massachusetts Regional
Library System (SEMLS) electronic discussion
list was established to provide a communication
forum for member libraries. The following
policy governs postings to the list.
- SEMLS member library staff and supporters
are invited to subscribe in order to
raise issues of common concern, learn about
breaking
SEMLS news, and receive information important
to Regional participation.
- Library staff from all Massachusetts libraries
is encouraged to exchange ideas, post questions
or vacancies, announce surplus items for
sale, or to use the mailing list for other
library-related purposes.
- Messages dealing with issues specific
to one library or region should not be
cross-posted
to the lists of other regional library
systems.
- Commercial announcements and advertisements
are not permitted.
- Sending file attachments is prohibited.
To prevent the spread of viruses, any
attachments are automatically stripped
from your message
before posting.
- In an effort to ensure that the SEMLS
list meets subscriber expectations, SEMLS
reserves
the right to make judgments and to exclude
postings from outside the list that do
not meet the above guidelines.
