My goals for today are to:
- Tell you what a blog is and show you different types of blogs that are available.
- Show you how to create a blog in five minutes (yes, that's all it takes.)
- Look at different ways librarians are using blogs to support their services, to disseminate information, and to collaboarate with patrons/students and each other.
- Explore what RSS feeds are and how you can not only create them easily with your blog, but how you can use them to keep up with news.

I really want to find out why I would want to use blogging. I seem to have trouble getting people to visit the website except to view eventkeeper. It would be nice to have people have some vehicle to talk about genre fiction, in particular. But are most of my patrons savvy enough?

We would love to have a link from our school's website sharing new happenings in our library, additions to our collection, and RSS feeds relating to specific topics the kids are studying. I think perhaps network security is an issue with our technology coordinator, so I hope to come back with lots of blogging information to share with him.

I am interested in creating blogs as a means of having various discussions with staff and students: book discussions, discussions of educational issues.

I am interested in blogging for 4th, 5th and 6th graders on the Children's Website at the Bridgewater Public Library.I believe this is a great way to communicate with the children about their reading interests and activities. I will also collaborate with the Young Adult Librarian and the teens.

In response to the One Book comment, I set up a forum site the first year and no one used it!
