Massachusetts Performers & Programs Directory
Massachusetts Performers & Programs Directory
Submission Policy
The Massachusetts Performers & Programs Directory is provided as
a service to the librarians in Massachusetts through a joint effort of
the Massachusetts Regional Library Systems. The directory includes performers
in categories as diverse as authors and illustrators to clowns and jugglers.
Programs for every age group, from preschool to adult, are included. Inclusion
in the directory does not constitute an endorsement.
Submitters are asked to adhere to the following guidelines when adding
performers to the directory:
- Performance content and format must be appropriate for a library
setting.
- Performers must have prior experience performing in a library or school.
- A performer must either be submitted into the directory by a librarian
or must provide at least one reference from a library or school (preferably
in Massachusetts.)
- A number of other statewide organizations publish directories that
may assist libraries with programming needs (e.g. the Massachusetts
Foundation for the Humanities Scholar Directory.) Performers whose programming
is better suited for one of these directories should submit their contact
information to the other directory. When possible, the Massachusetts
Performers & Programs Directory will link to these alternate directories.
- Performances should be appropriate for the audience age. Please be
as specific as possible about the age range for which your performance
is intended.
- Please be as specific as possible when assigning categories to your
performance.
- Submitters should not include programs that advocate any personal
beliefs or doctrines.
- As the producer of the directory, the Southeastern Massachusetts
Library System reserves the right to exclude any performer or program
from the directory if it does not meet the above criteria.
