Digitization
SEMLS is a group sponsoring member of the
Digital
Commonwealth and wants to find ways to
assist and encourage members to develop digital
resources. In the fall of 2007, SEMLS
contracted with Nelinet to begin a project
that would help our members focus on the whys
and hows of digitization and what role SEMLS
should play.
The goals of the SEMLS Digitization Project
are to :
- Educate member library staff on digital
topics
- Determine the digitization needs of the
region through surveys and evaluation
- Identify grant
potentials
The project began in
January, 2007 with a series of workshops on
digital collections, metadata and xml.
In December 2007 we offered training in Digital
Copyright Issues. |
