Instructions
for Delivery Routing Slip:
For most of your activity, you will use the
“S” routing slip. You need to
check the Massachusetts Delivery Routing Directory
to determine which name is designated for
a particular library. This listing is on the
SEMLS website, under Delivery/Statewide Routing
Directory.
The label name should be written exactly
the way it is in the directory. Preprinted
SEMLS routing slips are also available on
the website, under Delivery/Routing Slips.
The SEMLS office highly recommends the use
of these routing slip to expedite your delivery.
If you need to handwrite out any routing
slips, here is an example:
To: Library Name
Attention: ILL, circulation supervisor, children’s
librarian, director or leave blank.
Date Sent: current date
From: Your Library Name
Route: Southeast
When sending items outside of the Southeast
area, staff should choose the routing slip
for the delivery route that the library is
on. If you need to send items to the other
regions, you will need to legibly print the
name of the town if you are sending to a public
library or the name of the institution if
you are sending to any other type of library.
Your route name Southeast needs to be printed
on your routing slip. You will also need to
check the Massachusetts Delivery Routing Directory
to determine which route delivers to a particular
library, such as B, C, M, N or W.
They are available in PDF format.
